Bangkok Nightlife & Entertainment Guide

Many thousands of visitors and tourists from all over the world flock to Bangkok throughout the year, purely to experience the hedonistic and extraordinary nightlife and variety of adult entertainment available throughout this vibrant city.

Whether looking for private pleasures, or seeking some new friends, Bangkok has every type of nightlife you can possibly imagine --- and then some!

Offering hundreds of clubs and bars, go-go bars, ladyboys, discos and dozens of pubs, if it is nightlife you are looking for, Bangkok will not disappoint you. With a reputation for being wild, rowdy and raucous, at the same time it can be a great way to relax, unwind and have some fun.

Probably one of the most well known adult entertainment areas in the world is Patpong Road in Bangkok, which seems to have justly earned the reputation of being the nightlife capital of the world.

What started as an area with beer bars for American servicemen in which to enjoy some rest and relaxation from duty, has developed over the decades into something much more. During the early 1990’s, many of the original Patpong beer bars sold to retail outlets, providing items such as leather “designer” handbags, and clothing. Some of the smaller “shop house” beer bars joined with their neighbours so there became fewer but larger bars. The most popular style of entertainment is probably the “Go-Go” bars, which predominate even today.

Indeed, Patpong Road became so popular, that the family who owns it decided to close it off to vehicular traffic, and to allow street traders to set up stalls. It was thought by many that this would see a decline in the entertainments offered in Patpong, but in fact the reverse was true. Patpong 1 was joined by Patpong 2, and is still offering a vast selection of nightlife, along with a thriving street market.

Unlike many capital cities, Bangkok does not only have one centre for adult entertainment. There are an abundance of venues of all types, both local and international, all over the city, so no matter where you stay, you are sure to find some nightlife that suits you, and is memorable, at a very reasonable price.

dont go to any of the upstairs clubs in Patpong if someone is trying to push you. Its because they get a hefty commission from the bouncers extorting you for "admission" on the way out. You well be told there's no cover in the beginning. Dont believe it.
