Central World Plaza has shutdown 2010

The ultramodern Central World Plaza shopping mall was set on fire on the 19th of May 2010. In this video we can see the building burning and what seem to be the last scene of this place

Central World Plaza and nearby area.

Central World Plaza is now regarded as one of the finest shopping centres and malls of South East Asia.

Central World and the Plaza have established themselves amongst the local elite and expatriate community of Bangkok.

Shopping is almost a national pastime in Thailand, and for those who enjoy a lifestyle of genuine class, then Central World is the place to go.

The Plaza is an area for events and displays of design and art, with regular monthly happenings in a whole range of subjects – from baby photo competitions to Japanese Art.

The Plaza, being so closely attached to Central World means visitors can almost make a day of it.

There are floors upon floors of shops to browse and any number of food outlets to take a break from the serious task of…shopping.

In the evening the Plaza sometimes holds special promotions for sports events, usually sponsored by one of the big local breweries.

To reach Central World Plaza, take the BTS Skytrain to Siam, and the signposts in the station show directions along the Skywalk to Central World and The Plaza.
