The good thing about Thailand is that certain activities are confined to certain well known streets or areas. Unlike Malaysia where you can be harassed by hookers any time, any where.
Also I have been mugged twice while in KL Malaysia. They have very hardened criminals there, who will cut chunks out of you. Never again.
Thailand is very safe. One million times safer.
